The University of Virginia School of Law seeks a faculty- and
student-oriented Research Librarian for a position responsible for in-depth
research assistance to law faculty. The person in this position will promote
research services to law faculty members and maintain awareness of faculty
research interests. The person will participate in scheduled reference desk
duty, be responsible for teaching in the Advanced Legal Research Program,
work with a group of selectors to evaluate and improve information
resources, and contribute to the Law Library's web presence.
The Law Library places a strong emphasis on high-quality research support
for the faculty and reference service to students and public patrons. This
position will be a part of a dynamic and creative team of research
librarians who work in a collaborative environment. The position will allow
for career development in any of several directions, including empirical
research, business research, and international and foreign legal research.
Background in any of these areas is a plus.
M.L.S. and/or J.D. required. Job requirements include demonstrated ability
to work both independently and on a team; with sophistication in information
