Duties
Provide general reference services to patrons using traditional and emerging technologies and staff reference desk as scheduled; assist with faculty research support through the Faculty Liaison Program and the faculty research service; serve as library liaison to one of the student-edited law journals; teach advanced legal research and other courses as assigned; contribute to the law and library professions by participating in local, regional and national meetings, presentations and activities and/or writing for professional publications
Required
A JD from an ABA accredited school and MLS from an ALA accredited school
Preferred
Knowledge of legal materials and current research methods
Organizational and management skills and ability to work as part of a team
Ability to interact positively with students, faculty, staff and the public,
Demonstrated teaching ability and teaching experience desirable
Knowledge of and experience in web content management desirable.
The Kathrine R. Everett Law Library has 12 librarians, 9 staff members and a broad collection of electronic, multimedia and print resources. The library serves 700 law students and a faculty of 50 (http://library.law.unc.edu/). The University of North Carolina is a major research University, enrolling over 27,000 students supported by 22 libraries. Chapel Hill, North Carolina is a university town in close proximity to Durham and Raleigh, the state capital, with access to other major universities and a variety of social and cultural opportunities.
