Job Description The Gregg-Graniteville Library at the University of South Carolina Aiken invites applicants to be the STEM and Emerging Technologies Librarian, a tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor, to begin January 2019. The successful candidate will be the librarian liaison to the STEM programs at USCA and participate in reference desk staffing, library instruction, and collection development.

Responsibilities include providing library instruction to classes, including one-time instruction, with special emphasis on classes in the STEM programs; consulting with the STEM programs to select and recommend library resources for the STEM areas as well as deselection in those areas of the collection based on curricular needs; participating in reference services; and creating and maintaining online reference guides (LibGuides). This position is also responsible for leading the Library Technology Team; investigating and keeping abreast of new technologies; making recommendations, including selecting and planning integration of new technologies for the benefit of students, faculty, and staff; supporting the rest of the library in terms of new technologies, which may include providing training and guidance on best practices for implementation; and creating and maintaining an area in the library for exploration of new technologies by students, faculty, and staff. As this is a tenure track position, the successful candidate will also be involved in research and scholarship and will be an active participant in service to the library, the campus, the profession, and the community. This is a 12 month, 37.5 week appointment with accrued sick and annual leave; salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Education and Experience
